- Good, flat paintings of objects

FRIDAY by Sean Mellyn | AnnaKustera Gallery

This was my favorite painting in the exhibition. Awesome surfaces. The installation work/sculptural paintings were visual puns. Amusing and well constructed, but I left feeling empty inside.

Andre Pretorious | Zieher Smith | 531 W 25th St

Perhaps a new John Currin? I thought of few of these paintings were nice. Some seemed to cutesy with their use of texture and perspective. Two cents.
