Saturday July 12, 2008 Chelsea Thursdays
Congratualations to Sonya Blesofsky for making it to the big time. Her first Chelsea opening- as far as I know, I could be wrong- at Mixed Greens, home to artists like Mark Mulroney and Kammy Roulner
Cinder blocks out a pigment-dyed paper. Love the gray color. It was really rich in person w/ a nice texture.

Above is a pic of Sonya and her bro. She will probably kill me when she sees this. Behind her is her second peice in the show, a wall of paper bricks lining the window of the gallery.
There was some other really beautiful work in the show. Specifically I liked this floaty installation by Mia Pearlman- like a pop-up version of a pen and ink drawing.

Below-----> Sarah Kabot's installation mimicking the architecture of the gallery. Very nicely done, crisp and elegant w/ all white paper.
